Introducing myself – Who I am, What I do, and Where I come from.

Hey there. My name is Joe Gearhart and I am absolutely terrible in describing myself.

I grew up loving fantasy and sci-fi stories, and it was a big driving force to who I am today. Particularly with George Lucas. When I was in seventh grade, we had to do a project in what we wanted to be when we grew up. At the time I was obsessed with Star Wars; I knew all the lore, I had books on droids, aliens, weapons, and whatever else they had to offer.

But just like life, things change. I never did become that ultra famous movie director/producer. I became a stay at home dad. I absolutely love my life so please, I don’t want the pity that I usually get from strangers. It allowed me to pursue my passions, and raise a beautiful little toddler. My passions somewhat merged into Table top role playing games, namely Dungeons and Dragons.

Dungeons and Dragons ultimately became my escape, and an excuse to make friends. Through this wonderful game, I made some very close friends of which I have never had before. I mean, I’ve always had work friends, but they come and go, and no matter how many times you say “yah, we should totally hang out later,” it never does happen.

My name is Joe Gearhart. I am married to my high school sweetheart since December of 2010. We recently moved to Florida from Indiana, and had a daughter named Poppy. I graduated from Indiana University with a degree in History and a Minor in International Studies. I have written several Historical papers that has been published in Undergraduate Research Journals. I love to write and imagine up new ideas about my passions, namely esports and DnD. I co-own a semi-professional Starcraft 2 team called Guns n’ Roaches, casted for IEM and for several smaller tournaments. Attempted to create a learning platform for esports with my brother called Gamehart, where I served as Chief Editor and Writer.
