What the hell is an Orc Claw of Luthic?

To fully understand what an Orc Claw of Luthic is, you must first know who the hell Luthic is.  Now picture this:  An 8.5 foot tall, bronze skinned, black eyed orc of a woman.  Oh yah, she also had FOUR FOOT CLAWS ON HER HANDS.  Remember this fact, it’ll come up later.  She was considered as the least wicked of the orc Gods, though she was still considered vicious and nasty tempered so don’t get assume she’s some kind of saint.  She was known to be matronly, taking care of the wounded and fucking up anybody who dared mess with her children.  Luthic could do some shit.  She could create literal storm of blood, incite a blood frenzy that put others under her control, control earth elementals, inflict illness and cure diseases, and rip you to shreds with her FOUR FOOT UNBREAKABLE CLAWS ON HER HANDS. Even with all this shit she could do, the other orc gods barely gave her any respect, even then only because she was Gruumsh’s wife. If you really want to know more about Luthic, check out the forgotten realms wiki page.  It’s intense.  To wrap all this God talk up, she’s the badass healer and patron to all orc women, which brings us to the Orc Claws of Luthic.

The orc Females who were devoted to Luthic, were the clerics of the orc world.  They are the mama bears of the orc stronghold who guaranteed the survival of the tribe by healing those injured, training those murdering little shits how to be warriors, and could fuck you up in battle by being a monk-paladin hybrid of what-the-fuckery.  They could use Lay on Hands, cast Darkness and regenerate, and rip you to shreds with their long ass sharp claws where they were trained in unarmed combat. Thanks mom!

So let’s look at those numbers

STR 14 (+2): Orc strong

DEX 15 (+2): Orc swift like  coursing river

CON 15 (+3): Orc tough

INT 10 (+0): Orc has brains

WIS 15 (+2): Orc is wise like ancient turtle. I mean, makes sense, being a cleric and all.

CHA 11 (+0): Orc not sexy enough for you?

With an AC of 14, and 45 (6d8 + 18) HP, they are a solid orc unit and bad guy to use in encounters. Their skills are specifically picked out as the healer of the orc world who can still fuck you up which can be fun to role play as.  Great to use in an orc heavy campaign where you want to show that they are more than just barbarians.

What makes them cool as shit

Aggressive: Using a bonus action, they can move up to 30 ft. toward a hostile creature that they can see so they can fuck you up without delay.

Spellcasting: With a spell save of DC 12, and a +4 to hit, they aren’t ones to worry about too much unless you have a pretty low level party.  However, they are a perfect choice to mess with your party as support for your orc foes.  Their use of bane, cure wounds, guiding bolt, warding bond, and bestow curse, can seriously make any young adventuring group regret being as overconfident as you know they usually are. 

Lights! Camera! Actions!

Multiattack: two claw attacks, or four if they have less than half hit points.  Holy fuck…

Claw: Melee +4 to hit, 6(1d8 + 2) slashing damage.  That could be an average of 24 damage when less than half hit points!

I have better ideas than you

  1. Mercenary Orc Claw of Luthic who guides the party.  Dope ass NPC
  2. Orc war? Orc Claw support all day but introduce them later as a curve ball for your adventurers. No one ever expects a support in an orcish army do they?
  3. Storming an Orc compound? Orc Claw of Luthics everywhere training little Orc children. think of the moral dilemma! Kill the orcish children before they can grow up with a taste for vengeance, or let them live?
  4. An Orc Claw of Luthic becomes an evil queen.  Pretty cool Orc BBEG if you can buff the stats a bit.
  5. Got an Orc in the group? Have an Orc Claw of Luthic try to get them back into clan in a forceful but motherly way. Make sure there are consequences or not answering the call of war!
